About The Position

As a Maintenance Engineer at Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our property, including guest rooms, front-of-house, back-of-house, and public areas. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will directly impact the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our guests and colleagues. This hands-on role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency while performing a range of trade tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical work.

Requirements

• Proficiency in general trades such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, or electrical work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while managing time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years prior experience in maintenance, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Trade certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain hotel buildings and equipment, ensuring everything is in optimal condition.
• Promptly address and resolve maintenance requests in guest rooms with a professional and courteous approach.
• Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative tasks in areas including mechanical systems, electrical work, painting, carpentry, and plumbing.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of all tasks performed.
• Assist in managing emergencies to protect guests, team members, and property systems, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Keep maintenance areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and properly stored.
• Interact with guests and colleagues in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Follow established procedures for handling items left behind in guest rooms or public areas.
• Perform other tasks or projects as requested by management.
