About The Position

This journeyman engineer role requires significant technical experience to perform advanced repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment installations while supporting the Facilities Manager and Engineering team. The position ensures reliable operation of plumbing systems, pumps, and water heaters; follows all local, state, and NEC standards; trains junior staff; maintains tools and equipment; and adheres to all policies. Strong communication, dependable attendance, and positive internal relationships are essential.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Engineer proficient in all engineering disciplines as listed: Plumbing - Soft soldering, Sil Phos brazing, pipe threading machine, estimating, layout and fabrication of plumbing systems, cast iron pipe, steam and condensate systems.
  • Electrical - low and high voltage, conduit, troubleshooting.
  • Refrigeration - low, medium and high temp, central and remote systems.
  • Central Plant - chillers, pumps, air compressor sand controls.
  • Boiler Plant - steam production, hot water production, pumps and controls.
  • Maintenance and repair of commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Stero, Garland, Cleveland, Gore, Hobart, Cutler and Blodgett Kitchen Equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Field experience – 2 years, Commercial experience – 1 ½ years.
  • Work experience on low voltage systems.
  • Field experience in repair of kitchen equipment.
  • Completion and proof of technical training (QE-Qualified Employee), basic plumbing knowledge, boiler operator license, Level 3 or 4, or equivalent experience, basic electricity.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with outside contractors and vendors as required.
  • Formulates Bill of Materials to accomplish tasks.
  • Systematically prepares to assume job assignments ensuring necessary equipment, parts, and materials are available and tasks can be accomplished efficiently and safely.

  • Demonstrates full understanding of the Team’s standard operating procedures as well as the organization’s policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Basic computer literacy with ability to input and gather data.
  • Ability to work in all climates and conditions including confined and dusty areas.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Communicates effectively with two-way radio.
  • Possess a valid Nevada driver's license
