About The Position

Cleveland-Cliffs, Butler Works is looking for a Maintenance Engineer in our Silicon Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Engineer is accountable for the development, management, and successful implementation of project engineering for assignments in the Silicon Maintenance Department. Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America. Requirements

  • Knowledge of machine design, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to perform / coordinate structural and civil project and infrastructure activities.
  • Ability to coordinate and execute a multitude of projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, time management skills, and strong computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years experience in heavy manufacturing, preferably steel production and finishing.

Responsibilities

  • Identify process improvements and/or critical equipment/facility replacements to produce a quality and competitive commercial product.
  • Manage projects and/or provide direct technical support of the assigned equipment and facilities.
  • Participate in technical investigations, studies, problem review, new and proposed equipment, materials, processes and facilities and provide sound engineering evaluations and recommendations for proposed actions.
  • Prepare equipment and construction installation specifications.
  • Perform and coordinate activities relating to civil and structural engineering for new projects and upgrades.
  • Other duties as assigned.
