About The Position

Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital, a part of Fairview Health Services, is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer Level III to join their Plant Services department. This is a temporary, 1.0 FTE position with a rotating shift schedule (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am, 7 days/week). The role involves being the "shift engineer" for all operating boilers and hospital equipment, responding to in-house problems to support the hospital and patients, and performing maintenance and repair of all hospital equipment (excluding Bio-medical) according to established guidelines. The position also includes responsibilities for Grounds Maintenance and Security as directed, and may require working outdoors in inclement weather.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 5 years facility maintenance experience required.
• Must possess a minimum of a State of Minnesota “2B” Boiler Operating License and a “1C” Boiler Operating License.
• Must possess appropriate, valid driver’s license and meet requirements and ability to be covered under Grand Itasca’s automotive insurance policy.
• Must have good mechanical aptitude, ability and knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
• Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.

Nice To Haves

• Three years of experience as “lead” (formal or informal) or supervisor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as "shift engineer" on all operating boilers and installed hospital equipment.
• Stand any of the 3 shifts (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am; 7 days/week).
• Respond to in-house problems in support of the hospital and patients.
• Perform maintenance and repair of all hospital equipment (except Bio-medical) in accordance with established guidelines.
• Perform Grounds Maintenance and Security as directed.
• May be required to work outside in inclement weather (i.e., extreme heat and cold).
