Maintenance Engineer I - Engineering - FT Varying Shifts
About The Position
This position is responsible for inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing all Physical Plant machinery, heating, cooling, piping, and electrical systems. The role involves operating and maintaining machinery and equipment, replacing and repairing HVAC components, and constructing/repairing building structures. Responsibilities also include testing emergency generators, maintaining fire equipment, and performing security checks. The role requires responding to safety calls, managing medical gases, and maintaining competency in all job responsibilities and organizational standards, including age-specific, cultural, spiritual, and functional needs of customers.
Requirements
- Three (3) years’ experience in maintenance, electrical or mechanical field required
- Knowledge of methods and techniques used in electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance
- Possession of valid Oregon driver’s license
- Excellent driving record and ability to be insured by the hospital’s auto insurance policy
- Must be able to work independently as well as with co-workers and patients.
- Must be able to prioritize work demands and organize time efficiently.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of electrical and building codes preferred
- Electrical/plumbing license
Responsibilities
- Inspects, tests, adjusts and repairs all Physical Plant machinery, heating, cooling, piping and electrical systems, and records maintenance in accordance with schedules.
- Operates and maintains all Physical plant machinery and equipment.
- Replaces, repairs and calibrates HVAC components, and replaces filters.
- Constructs and repairs building structure, walls, floor, ceiling, cabinets and furniture.
- Tests and operates emergency generators.
- Inspects, tests, cleans, and may repair fire equipment, alarms, switches, and sensors.
- Inspects, adjusts and repairs miscellaneous hospital equipment including beds, autoclaves, centrifuge, meat slicers and ovens.
- Maintains record of all inspections, tests, and repairs.
- Performs security checks of building, parking lot and equipment.
- Removes ice and snow from walkways, roads, and parking lot during winter months.
- Responds to safety and security calls.
- Inventories orders and changes medical gases and LOX.
- Maintains competency in all position responsibilities.
- Demonstrates competence in relation to the defined mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of the organization.
- Demonstrates awareness of age specific practices of the customer(s).
- Demonstrates awareness of cultural and spiritual practices of the customer(s).
- Demonstrates awareness of the functional status and physical needs of our customer(s).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
