Maintenance Employee
About The Position
Maintenance employees perform housekeeping and janitorial duties to keep parking facilities bright and clean. The role also includes snow removal, landscaping duties, and assisting with power washing. Employees work outdoors up to 90% of the time and may work in weather of all types, including extreme cold, heat, and high winds for extended periods. The position requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds, extensive walking and standing, and repetitive movements such as bending, reaching, crouching, grasping, twisting, and climbing stairs. Employees regularly work with cleaning solvents and hazardous substances used for graffiti removal, cleaning, painting, and other applications.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand use and grasping and holding tools.
- Ability to walk and stand extensively and to bend, reach, crouch, twist, and climb stairs.
- Ability to work in weather of all types, including extreme cold, heat, and high winds for extended periods.
- Ability to work with cleaning solvents and hazardous substances used for graffiti removal, cleaning, painting, and other applications.
- Maintain an acceptable, clean driving record that meets company policy when operating company vehicles and trucks.
Responsibilities
- Sweep garages and lots, including curbs, stairs, walkways, elevators and elevator tracks, expansion joints, and drive lanes.
- Wipe down stair handrails using company-approved cleaning supplies.
- Clean windows in parking structures using company-approved cleaning supplies.
- Clean and polish trash cans using company-approved supplies; empty them and install new liners.
- Mop elevators, elevator landings, and other areas as needed using company-approved supplies and personal protective equipment.
- Safely operate company vehicles and trucks and maintain a clean driving record that meets company policy.
- Perform regular tours of structures and lots.
- Shovel snow and ice as required.
- Remove trash and debris from drive lanes, curbs, walkways, stairs, and other applicable areas.
- Clean 911 boxes, signage, and window ledges using company-approved supplies.
- Remove cobwebs from stairwell corners and around light fixtures.
- Clean offices, including emptying trash, vacuuming, dusting, and washing windows.
- Clean restrooms, including sinks and toilets; mop floors; and replenish paper and sanitary products as needed.
- Clean break rooms.
- Remove graffiti and perform paint touch-ups as needed.
- Perform car counts at structures and open lots.
- Perform snow removal, including shoveling, scraping, and applying magnesium salt as needed.
- Assist with power washing as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
