About The Position

The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems in the plant. This role requires a complete understanding and working knowledge of 110, 240, 480-volt AC motor and DC drive systems. The position involves working with electrical schematics, hand tools, and estimating/designing basic electrical systems. Additionally, the role may require performing other duties to maintain the plant's welfare, including installing/replacing conduit. A good working knowledge of OSHA, NEC Codes, and Plant Safety Policies and Procedures is essential. The job also involves calculating wire and pipe sizes, lining up pipe runs, and estimating completion times. The ability to perform basic electrical work, use tools like a digital multi-meter, and terminate 3-phase motors is necessary. Operating heavy industrial equipment such as cranes, boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, and forklifts is also part of the job. The role requires climbing stairs and ladders, lifting more than 60 lbs, reading and understanding policies, documenting information, and communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

  • Complete understanding and working knowledge of 110, 240, 480-volt AC motor and DC drive system.
  • Ability to read and work off schematics.
  • Ability to use all electrical hand tools.
  • Ability to estimate and design basic electrical systems.
  • Good working knowledge of all OSHA, NEC Codes and Plant Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Must have 3 months industrial maintenance work experience listed on application.
  • Must be willing to work A, B, C or D shift.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age.
  • Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
  • If you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.
  • Minimum 6 month waiting period from previous Tyson employment.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical work and use basic electrical tools including a digital multi-meter, wire/unwire 3 phase motors, basic single-phase terminations etc.
  • Ability to operate heavy industrial equipment such as crane, boom lift, scissor lift, telehandler, forklift etc.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to lift more than 60 lbs.
  • Ability to read and understand policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to document information.
  • Ability to communicate with others written and verbally.
  • Must be able to provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States.
  • Must pass a urinalysis screening which is part of the post-offer health assessment.
