About The Position

The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems within the plant. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of various electrical systems, including AC motor and DC drive systems, and the ability to work with schematics and electrical hand tools. The position also involves estimating and designing basic electrical systems, installing/replacing conduit, and performing other duties to ensure the plant's welfare. A strong knowledge of safety codes and procedures is essential, as is the ability to calculate wire and pipe sizes, line up pipe runs, and estimate completion times. The role also requires the ability to perform basic electrical work, operate heavy industrial equipment, climb stairs and ladders, lift over 60 lbs, read and understand policies, document information, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

  • 3 months industrial maintenance work experience listed on application.
  • Must be willing to work A, B, C or D shift.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age.
  • Applicants who have worked for Tyson three times will not be considered.
  • Minimum 6 month waiting period from previous Tyson employment.
  • Candidate can provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States.
  • Pass a urinalysis screening which is part of the post-offer health assessment.
  • Complete the final task separate from the application.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of all OSHA, NEC Codes and Plant Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems in the plant.
  • Understand and work with 110, 240, 480-volt AC motor and DC drive systems.
  • Read and work off schematics.
  • Use all electrical hand tools.
  • Estimate and design basic electrical systems.
  • Install/replace conduit.
  • Perform any/all other duties to maintain the welfare of the plant.
  • Figure and calculate wire and pipe sizes.
  • Line up pipe runs.
  • Calculate estimated completion times.
  • Perform basic electrical work and use basic electrical tools including a digital multi-meter, wire/unwire 3 phase motors, basic single-phase terminations etc.
  • Operate heavy industrial equipment such as crane, boom lift, scissor lift, telehandler, forklift etc.
  • Climb stairs and ladders.
  • Lift more than 60 lbs.
  • Read and understand policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Document information.
  • Communicate with others written and verbally.
