About The Position
Work with the maintenance department to carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair on all shipyard equipment and systems including overhead cranes, mobile cranes, forklifts, winches, yard vehicles, welding/gouging equipment, NC machines, HVAC systems, and facility power and lighting systems.
Requirements
- Experience with 480V systems is required.
- Troubleshooting and mechanical skills are critical.
Nice To Haves
- Experience or familiarity with 13kV systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Maintain welding machines, forklifts, crawler & overhead cranes, vehicles and hand tools.
- Follow Lock Out / Tag Out procedures.
- Disconnect and connect high voltage equipment such as welding machines and shore power for vessels under construction.
- Enter and work in confined spaces.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Repair and overhaul of large and small machinery.
- Building maintenance.
- Maintain and repair painting/blasting equipment.
- Maintain and repair company trailers.
- Connect shore power to vessels.
- Maintain reports for all the above.
- Ascend and work at heights of up to 40 feet.
