Requirements

  • Process, Electrical, or Automation Engineering Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with complex control systems including PLCs and HMIs.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in industrial maintenance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of overall maintenance process and electrical principles including the following:
  • Networking tools and standards
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics for installation, repair, and maintaining equipment.
  • Basic pneumatic and hydraulic system knowledge.
  • Must be able to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a reinforcing steel fabrication environment.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance setting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Maintenance and Production teams to maximize the safety of and to maintain and optimize the rebar fabrication processes.
  • Hands-on maintenance of rebar shear, bending machines, OH Cranes.
  • Generate parts lists and labor time estimates for maintenance and repairs.
  • Train key shop teammates on new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment.
  • Maintain repair records.
  • Troubleshooting and improving both the process and equipment and developing/implementing future improvement plans.
  • Troubleshooting error codes from PLCs and HMIs (Various manufacturers are used, mostly European brands).
  • Understanding both hardware and software is integral to the role, which will likely require additional support outside normal business hours.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Must be familiar with and adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication and OSHA safety standards.
  • This position is regional in nature and will require regular travel to other NRF locations to proactively find improvement opportunities as well as to help solve existing problems, train other team members, assist with regional maintenance and to learn/share best practices.
  • This position is not limited to only these responsibilities, the Production Supervisor or Branch Manager may add responsibilities as needed.
