About The Position

Iowa Premium, a National Beef Company in Tama, Iowa, is hiring a Maintenance Electrician to join its Maintenance Team at its production and packaging facility. This is an on-site, safety-sensitive position. The hourly wage starts at $25.50 and may reach $35.50, depending on experience. A perfect-attendance bonus of $2.50 per hour is also available. A relocation package and qualification bonus are available.

The electrician maintains and installs electrical equipment and components, troubleshoots and repairs electrical issues, and follows applicable safety practices and electrical codes. The role requires working outdoors in all weather, using tools and lifting equipment, and being able to work with others or independently. The position may involve various shifts and on-call work as needed.

Requirements

• Able to read blueprints.
• Previous electrical experience; industrial experience is preferred.
• Able to drive a forklift or willing to complete forklift training.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather.
• Able to lift 75–100 pounds.
• Able to read and write.
• Able to use basic mathematics.
• Able to stand and walk on concrete and stairs for the duration of the shift.
• Able to pass a mechanical aptitude test.
• Able to use ladders.
• Able to use lift trucks, such as a Snorkel Lift or bucket lift.
• Able to use various hand tools and power tools.
• Able to work with a group or unsupervised.
• Able to work various shifts and on-call as needed.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice To Haves

• Block certification or Journeyman Electrician qualification preferred.
• Industrial electrical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical components.
• Dismantle and remove electrical cables and wiring.
• Install new equipment.
• Run electrical conduit.
• Understand and comply with all safety and electrical codes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Use two-way radios.
• Wear task-specific personal protective equipment.
• Comply with safe work practices and procedures.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy.
