About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining the highest possible safety standards, especially during installation practices and equipment repair operations. The Maintenance Electrician will possess exceptional knowledge of facilities electrical/main services and related support service systems, with certification in the National Electrical Code (NEC). Responsibilities include the inspection and maintenance of power distribution systems, diagnosing and responding quickly to system repairs, and applying repair techniques. The position requires the ability to identify areas of energy waste and implement logical, cost-effective improvements. The Maintenance Electrician will collaborate with department heads to resolve power and lighting issues, research industry standards for optimal lighting and power system efficiency, and communicate with local utilities regarding potential power disruptions. This role also involves working with vendors for inventory and emergency services, creating and maintaining accurate maintenance records, and assisting Facility Planning with in-house projects.

Requirements

  • Certification in the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply NEC rules to all electrical work done at Lands' End by maintenance personnel.
  • Continual education to maintain NEC certification.
  • Minimum of Journeyman level or equivalent (5 years) of commercial and industrial electrical experience.
  • Expert knowledge in the use of test equipment (digital and analog volt, ohm and ammeters; gauss meter; and infrared scanning equipment).
  • Good computer skills, with the ability to use it as a maintenance tool (research, testing, Internet).
  • Ability to prioritize and adjust to changing schedules.
  • Ability to provide updated information and training procedures to maintenance personnel.
  • Must have valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must obtain certification to operate forklifts and all Lands' End motorized vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Work with local utilities to communicate possible problems, such as scheduled power outages and rolling blackouts.
  • Be familiar with vendors available to supply inventory emergency service when needed.
  • Create and maintain accurate records and files of maintenance procedures.
  • Work with Facility Planning on in-house projects.
  • Learn and comply with all company safety rules.
  • Use appropriate safety equipment at all times.
  • Immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Be familiar with all safety features of equipment, machinery, or materials encompassed by job duties.
  • Check with supervisor if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.
