About The Position

The Maintenance Electrician will install and maintain the electrical systems of the plant to provide power for machinery, lighting, and facilities. Perform all tasks with safety, productivity, and quality in mind and in accordance with established procedures and process instructions.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Over 5 years of experience as an electrician in an industrial setting
  • Technical School training, accredited apprenticeship, or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of AC and DC circuits and systems
  • Motor generator principles and control theory, and design
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, as related to installations, basic hydraulics, and pneumatics, in addition to good electrical safety habits and PC operation
  • Knowledge of control devices, high voltage maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Panel building and machine rewiring, reading electrical schematics, and modification of electrical systems

Responsibilities

  • Align with local codes and safety specifications.
  • Train electricians in lesser classifications.
  • Diagnose, isolate, and effect repairs or replacement of problems in the plant electrical system.
  • Make emergency repairs to prevent excessive production delays.
  • Manage plant high-voltage substations, ensuring they are in good condition, and perform mechanical troubleshooting and repair assignments as required.
  • Observe extreme caution and good safety practices in servicing all plant electrical systems.
  • Capable of working from an elevated platform and lifting 50 pounds.
  • Enforce necessary actions to minimize delay time and enhance productivity.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Perform all work with minimal instruction and secure the accurate tools for each task.
  • Communicate suggestions and recommend solutions to problems to ensure efficient operation.
  • Approach work assignments positively and function as a team member to exceed customer quality and service expectations through attention to detail.
  • Exercise maximum care to protect the environment by fostering and supporting responsible operating procedures.
