Requirements

  • Industrial Automation Degree, Engineering Technology Degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Knowledge of standard testing techniques and practices for general purposes and specialized test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, current clamps, programmers, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of computer and PLC hardware (design, programming, start-up).
  • PLC Programming experience, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Fanuc controls, preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of motion controls and devices (I/O processors, digital/analog modules, servo motors, high-speed counters, steppers, and resolvers/encoders, etc.).
  • Knowledge of low-power distribution systems.
  • Electrical design/drafting with ability to clearly and accurately annotate electrical documents, prints, software programs, industrial sensors (non-contact sensors, thermocouples, RTDs, level sensors, flow sensors, safety interlocks).
  • Ability to work on the production floor with exposure to dust, fumes, odors, loud noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Ability to do work requires standing with frequent stooping, bending, reaching overhead, and sufficient manual dexterity to perform all aspects of the job.
  • Ability to lift, move parts and equipment up to 100 pounds in a team lift.
  • Able to work up to 12-hour shifts primarily standing.

Nice To Haves

  • CNC or Aluminum Extrusion experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Flexibility to work and train on multiple shifts.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Provide technical assistance to the maintenance team with electrical hardware and software to maintain and keep the plant in operation when breakdowns occur.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and repair equipment electrical/control system failures and report to the Engineering Group for root cause analysis.
  • Maintain and modify as needed PLC and control programming.
  • Support the Engineering Group in the design and development of equipment control modifications.
  • Perform and document electrical-related PMs (Planned Maintenance) on process and facilities equipment as assigned.
  • Support the Engineering Group in the design and development of capital projects.
