About The Position

This position at JBS USA involves the day-to-day repairs of electrical and/or electronic components on equipment throughout the plant. The role includes daily calibration checks of weighing equipment (scales) according to set standards, and performing repairs and preventive maintenance on this equipment. The technician will also be responsible for basic troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and their supporting systems, including instrumentation, variable frequency drives, and motor control circuits. Additionally, the role supports the installation and replacement of equipment by running conduit and pulling wire, and requires a basic understanding of network cabling and video cameras.

Requirements

• Knowledge of electrical safety, including Lockout/Tagout (LO TO) and arc flash safety.
• Ability to use a multi-meter and/or megger for troubleshooting.
• Understanding of 3-phase power circuits (480, 240, 208 VAC).
• Understanding of 277 VAC for lighting.
• Troubleshooting of 120 VAC and 24VDC control circuits.
• Basic mechanical background.
• Ability to read line diagrams, prints, and/or schematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Basic PLC knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day repairs of electrical and/or electronic components on equipment in all areas of the plant.
• Perform daily calibration checks of scales (weighing equipment) according to set standards.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on scales (weighing equipment) within the plant.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and supporting systems, including instrumentation, variable frequency drives, and motor control circuits.
• Support installation/replacement of equipment, including running conduit and pulling wire.
• Maintain a basic understanding of network cabling and video cameras.
• Keep records of daily scale tests.
