About The Position

Sylvamo’s Ticonderoga, NY Mill is located on the shores of Lake Champlain and produces high-end printing and technical papers. This journeyman-level electrician position is responsible for scheduled maintenance, preventive maintenance, and break-in electrical work, as well as other duties performed independently and as part of a team. The work includes installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining 480V through 13.8kV electrical systems, 480V and 2300V motor controls, and associated control equipment, including relay logic and PLC systems. The hourly pay rate is $38.12 as of June 1, 2026.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Four years of electrical apprentice or helper experience and qualified electrician status.
Industrial technology degree.
Certificate from an accredited college or trade school.
Willingness and capability to work all shifts.

Nice To Haves

Desire to work in a manufacturing setting.
Electronics experience.
Experience with high-voltage systems and power distribution.
Experience with AC motors and drives, and DC motors and drives.
Control systems experience with DCS, PLCs, PCs, and analytical equipment.
Knowledge of electrical schematics.
Highly motivated and results-driven, with the ability to perform well in a team setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Complete scheduled maintenance, preventive maintenance, and break-in electrical work.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain 480V through 13.8kV electrical systems.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain 480V and 2300V motor controls and associated control equipment, including relay logic and PLC systems.
Perform other duties independently and as part of a team.
