About The Position

The Maintenance Dispatcher is an important role that supports the plant’s Asset Reliability Program. This position will be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities. The primary focus for this position will be proper work planning, prioritization, and scheduling to achieve plant goals. This position requires working in an internal and external environment which is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and the risk of electrical shock, and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. This position requires less than 10% travel on an as needed basis. Some travel for training is required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • 3-5 years of related experience, preferably within manufacturing facilities.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to maintain considerable concentration with frequent time pressures and interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain visual attention for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to process work with accuracy.
  • Ability to occasionally sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry minimal weights up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally reach, squat, kneel, climb, push or pull.
  • Ability to be physically at work during all scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to maintain regular physical attendance.
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment without close supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • two-year technical training preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and an understanding of other software, web-based applications, and Internet search functions preferred.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule work effectively based on production planned downtimes.
  • Utilize maintenance software to plan schedules and track costs.
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks and determine a time frame that is most efficient.
  • Review work orders from planned downtime and follow up with maintenance leadership regarding any discrepancies or additional work needed to be done.
  • Provide all necessary instruction and information to those performing the work.
  • Determine required work and prioritize based on criticalities and availability.
  • Assess the work being planned and what type of experience/knowledge is needed to complete the work.
  • Coordinate with maintenance supervisors to secure the resources needed for planned work.
  • Prepare and facilitate weekly scheduling meetings with maintenance leadership.
  • Make updates to the equipment documentation files as needed.
  • Work with the Maintenance Storeroom Technician to order required parts or specialized tools/equipment for the planned downtime days.
  • Increase the level of planned maintenance with the goal of working towards predictive maintenance.
  • Review forecasts vs. actual time spent during PM days and adjust accordingly.
  • Coordinate with contractors for any planned PM work that needs to be done, i.e., RTD calibrations, scale calibrations, etc.
  • Work with Maintenance Storeroom Technician for parts kitting so that items are organized and ready to go when there is an opportunity.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
