Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 3 years of facility maintenance experience or a related field required.
  • This position requires the ability to read and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product labels.
  • Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent human relation skills and enthusiasm.
  • Basic math skills and demonstrated recordkeeping proficiency.
  • An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Successfully complete within 60 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/O2 Certification, Bloodborne Pathogen training, Child Abuse Prevention training, and all other required training as specified by your supervisor.
  • Ability to relate to, welcome and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily and long-term maintenance of facility, equipment, and grounds, ensuring functionality and safety.
  • Create and implement preventative maintenance schedules and improvement plans that align with facility needs and YMCA standards.
  • Maintain necessary records, inventory, and supplies for smooth facility operations.
  • Ensure that all YMCA safety procedures and program standards are followed and that any issues are reported promptly.
