About The Position

UniFirst is seeking a reliable and dedicated part-time Maintenance Custodian to join the Maintenance Department. The role performs housekeeping and cleaning activities in office spaces, kitchen and common areas, the plant and production floor, restrooms, parking lots, and grounds. The position offers on-the-job training and a Monday–Friday schedule of up to 29 hours per week. There may be an opportunity to transition to full-time employment.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment to ensure safe use of general cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Ability to operate floor-cleaning equipment and other required tools.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret procedures and instructions in English.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers and managers.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school education and/or GED equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use cleaning equipment and supplies to perform housekeeping operations.
• Clean and stock restrooms, kitchen areas, and breakrooms.
• Remove trash and place it in the designated area.
• Maintain clean windows.
• Dust furniture and ensure builders hardware is satisfactory.
• Move light furniture to assigned areas as directed.
• Replace overhead light bulbs when directed.
• Clean office areas, the production floor, areas outside the facility, and other assigned property areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
