About The Position

The Maintenance Crew Chief is responsible for supervising and directing the work of Mechanics and other personnel within their section, while also being a working member of the team. This role involves overseeing the repair, servicing, and maintenance of aircraft systems, powerplants, airframes, avionics, and components. The Crew Chief is accountable for the general upkeep of ground equipment supporting Line Maintenance activities and for the production and interpretation of aircraft discrepancies. They are also responsible for providing instruction and training to employees (excluding Inspectors) and ensuring proper manpower distribution for efficiency. Additionally, the role includes conducting on-the-job training (OJT), ensuring safety and accident prevention measures are followed, and performing duties as directed by the Supervisor – Line Maintenance or Maintenance Management personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and current Airframe & Powerplant Certificate.
  • Three years A&P experience required.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, 5-year background check, 10-year criminal history check and security threat assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, execute and sign forms, tags, and other paperwork in accordance with the appropriate maintenance manuals.
  • Review all paperwork for completeness and signatures.
  • Release aircraft for service in accordance with Aloha Air Cargo or contract carrier’s Maintenance Log procedures.
  • Supervise and direct the work of Mechanics and other personnel assigned to his section.
  • Supervise the repair, servicing and maintenance of aircraft systems, powerplants, airframe, avionics and components.
  • Accountable for the general up keep of ground equipment in support of all Line Maintenance activities under his/her supervision.
  • Accountable for production and assistance in interpretation and resolution of aircraft discrepancies.
  • Give instruction and training to employees of any classification except Inspectors.
  • Ensure proper distribution of manpower for work performance efficiency.
  • Conduct on-the-job training (OJT) of personnel in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Make certain that all safety and accident prevention measures are followed and corrected action taken as warranted.
  • Perform all duties and special assignments as directed by the Supervisor – Line Maintenance or Maintenance Management personnel.
