  • Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming experience, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Automation Direct, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with HMIs, VFDs, motors, sensors, servos, and other industrial automation components.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical wiring, control panel modifications, and equipment startup activities.
  • Knowledge of motor control centers (MCCs), power distribution systems, and industrial electrical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose complex electrical and controls issues under production conditions.
  • Willingness to travel 30–40% to support other manufacturing facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent; preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment in a maintenance capacity.
  • Experience commissioning new equipment and automation systems.
  • Background in continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and downtime reduction initiatives.
  • Experience in polymer, foam, chemical, or process manufacturing environments.
  • AutoCAD or electrical drafting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
  • Provide hands-on support for daily maintenance and production issues involving controls, electrical systems, drives, sensors, and HMIs.
  • Develop, modify, and debug PLC and HMI programs to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
  • Install, wire, test, and commission automation equipment, control panels, motors, sensors, drives, and related components.
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities on automated production equipment.
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to minimize downtime and maximize machine performance.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including electrical drawings, PLC backups, and troubleshooting records.
  • Support automation and controls projects at other Flooring locations as needed.
