Hours/Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm As a Controls Technician at our Kerry Byesville site, you’ll play a key role in keeping automated production equipment and control systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably. You’ll troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, support electrical and automation systems, and help minimize downtime in a fast-paced beverage manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on controls role where your technical skills will directly support safe, reliable production and help drive continuous improvement across high-speed beverage manufacturing operations.

Requirements

3+ years of industrial maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, or PLC controls experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and programming, including ladder logic, HMI systems, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix, and Siemens platforms.
Proficient in electrical troubleshooting up to 480V, VFDs, servo motors, industrial networking, pneumatics, hydraulics, instrumentation, and process controls.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and ladder logic.
CMMS experience and basic computer skills required; SAP knowledge is helpful.
Practiced in safe work habits, including LOTO procedures, with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
Experience in beverage, food manufacturing, chemical manufacturing, or high-speed packaging environments preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled manufacturing, filling, packaging, and material handling equipment
Diagnose automation, electrical, and control system issues across motors, drives, sensors, relays, VFDs, servo motors, and control panels
Support PLC program changes, ladder logic troubleshooting, HMI systems, industrial networking, and communications
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve uptime, equipment reliability, MTTR, production efficiency, and OEE
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and ladder logic
Maintain and support beverage manufacturing equipment including conveyors, fillers, cappers, labellers, palletizers, robotics, CIP systems, compressors, pumps, and mixing/blending systems
Respond to emergency breakdowns, support startups, commissioning, and line changeovers, and help minimize production downtime
Install, maintain, and calibrate industrial electrical components, instrumentation, safety circuits, interlocks, and process controls
Partner with maintenance, engineering, and production teams on process improvements, equipment upgrades, and reliability initiatives
Document repairs, modifications, and maintenance activity in CMMS systems while following LOTO, safety, and quality standards
