About The Position

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and preventative maintenance programs. Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical control equipment and circuitry. Uses PC Software to troubleshoot issues with electrical control systems via hardware specific software for PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems. The ITW StampTech Fastener TM Division serves the major OEMs and Tier suppliers in the North American automotive market. The division supplies stamped metal fasteners and engineered fastener assemblies that leverage our deep-draw stamping technologies. The annual revenue for the division is approximately $160M. Locations include Gallatin, TN, Portland, TN, Lexington, KY & Naugatuck, CT. The Division drives profitability by leveraging its innovative solutions and application engineering. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school including training for PLC maintenance and programming or 5-7 years of electrical, mechanical and PLC related experience
  • Proficient with PLC, troubleshooting and programming.
  • Experience with operating a forklift
  • Basic computer knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Assembles and tests experimental motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components.
  • Modifies electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations under the direction of an Electrical Engineer.
  • Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventive and corrective maintenance action.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control systems via online connection to PLCs and understanding of ladder diagram language to identify inputs and outputs
  • Using PC Software, troubleshoot issues with electrical control systems via hardware specific software for PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems as needed
  • Ability to identify and add/remove software connections between HMI interface and control system hardware.
  • Works with production equipment performing change-overs and adjusting machines to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Develops wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion; directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties.
  • Plans, directs, and records periodic electrical testing and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
  • Performs routine and preventative maintenance on building equipment.
  • Needs to be familiar with motors, conveyors, pulleys, filling and packaging lines in order to troubleshoot issues on equipment.
  • Performs electrical, mechanical, welding, plumbing and carpentry duties as needed for the facility.
  • Reads and interprets drawings and schematics to locate problem areas and suggests methods for corrective action.
