Maintenance/Construction Technician III - (Harnett CI)
About The Position
The NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician III to report to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor IV. This position requires specialization in two or more technical trades in connection with the maintenance of facilities, related equipment, and machinery. The role functions at the journey level in multiple skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, masonry, heating and air, or similar specializations. The job responsibilities include completing complex work assignments that require planning and/or coordinating multiple trade disciplines, working assigned tasks independently, and referring very technical or unusual working problems to a supervisor. The position will also supervise offender workers engaged in semi-skilled, unskilled, or skilled maintenance assignments and ensure compliance with work orders and maintaining equipment in proper working condition.
Requirements
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas
- Or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulation part 82, subpart F.

- Working knowledge of methods, practices, tools and/or materials used in the general maintenance and/or repair of buildings, equipment, and/or machinery.
