We’re seeking a Maintenance Buyer to support our production facility by ensuring the timely purchase of parts, tools, and services needed to keep our equipment running efficiently. You’ll play a key role in managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and maintaining inventory levels to minimize downtime and ensure that maintenance operations run smoothly. As the Maintenance Buyer, you will manage the procurement process for maintenance parts and services, ensuring compliance with company policies and SOX regulations. The position will be based in Riverside, Ca.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in business, procurement, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a maintenance or production environment.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance and corporate procurement policies.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems and inventory management software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and urgent needs.

Responsibilities

  • Source and procure parts, equipment, and services needed for maintenance and repair activities.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, SOX requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to forecast part needs and optimize inventory levels.
  • Review and approve purchase orders and invoices, ensuring accuracy and budget alignment.
  • Track delivery schedules and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely arrival of critical parts.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through vendor consolidation or strategic sourcing.
  • Participate in vendor evaluation and selection processes.
  • Assist in budget management by monitoring costs and working to control spending.
