About The Position

This role involves performing maintenance and automation tasks within a food-processing environment. The specialist will be responsible for electrical craft work, including setup, adjustment, troubleshooting, and programming of electrical equipment. They will also perform instrument technician craft work, focusing on setup, calibration, ranging, PID control, and troubleshooting of instrumentation equipment. A key aspect of the role is contributing to a safe and efficient workplace by adhering to all safety regulations, codes, and policies, including OSHA, EPA, FDA, NFPA 70E, Lock Out/Tag Out/Try Out, and Confined Entry policies. The specialist will also follow waste disposal and accumulation requirements as set by the HAZMAT policy. This position requires a self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision, contribute to reducing unplanned downtime, and use data and procedures to determine and correct root causes of equipment failure.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a food-processing environment.
• Industrial Journeyman level and/or on-the-job experience with heavy industrial Electrical, Electrical Controls.
• Expertise with ControlLogix, SLC5-500, Rockwell Factory Talk View, DNet, CNet, ENet IP, ISA Symbology and P&IDs.
• Working knowledge of ABB and Fanuc Robotics.
• Ability to interpret P&ID drawings and specifications, electrical design, network designs, PLC & HMI development and electrical troubleshooting.
• Proficient and safe in the use of the following test instruments: volt/ohm multi-meters, amp meters, meggers, transducers, oscilloscopes and PLC based program/diagnostic panels. HMI touch screens.
• Experience in Variable Frequency Drives and Kinetic drives required.
• Experience in the use of hand tools specific to electrical/electronic/controls field, as well as mechanical hand tools.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening test and physical and written skill assessment test.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or technical college, preferably Electrical, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform set-up, adjustment, timing, troubleshooting, replacement, and programming of electrical equipment.
• Dismantle, inspect, and rebuild electrical assemblies to ensure conformance to specifications or production requirements.
• Perform set-up, adjustment, calibrations, ranging, PID control, programming, and troubleshooting of instrumentation equipment, including measurement equipment.
• Contribute to a safe workplace by performing all tasks in accordance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, NFPA 70E, Lock Out/Tag Out/Try Out safety rules, codes, policies, and regulations, and Confined Entry policies.
• Follow waste disposal and accumulation requirements as set out by the HAZMAT policy.
• Contribute to customer satisfaction.
• Work as a self-motivated individual with minimal supervision.
• Work to reduce unplanned downtime by collaborating with the Supervisor to make necessary improvements in equipment.
• Use data and specific procedures to determine Root-cause failure and strive to correct the problem versus the symptom.
