About The Position

The Maintenance Attendant is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Supervisor in the daily operation, maintenance, and repairs of all systems involved in the smooth operation of a large typical, modern hotel and related properties, parking lots, and related areas. Typical duties include maintaining the hotel building and grounds, including the parking lot, guest rooms, hallways, lobbies, store-rooms, and laundry room. This role provides the highest quality of service to customers, promptly responds to guest concerns, and has a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures. The attendant must know how to clean guest rooms to standards, perform in-depth and routine maintenance, and operate laundry equipment. They practice safety standards, can move miscellaneous items weighing up to 75 lbs, and may be required to work varying schedules. Performs repairs such as plunging toilets, tuning televisions, or changing light bulbs. Picks up outside trash, cleans parking lot and planter areas, and cleans and checks air conditioner filters. Adheres to proper Lockout/Tagout procedures per OSHA requirements and maintains the Maintenance Shop in a clean, organized manner. Must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company and be willing to perform other duties as assigned. Operates various maintenance equipment; performs interior and exterior caulking and painting; roof maintenance; electrical repairs; carpentry repairs; tile repairs; foliage trimming; mechanical equipment maintenance; and general building maintenance. Supports professional service personnel when needed. Helps oversee the opening and closing of facilities and all electromechanical operational activities during and after business hours, ensuring the smooth operation of all machinery. Turns equipment on/off, cleans all equipment and related hardware, observes all equipment operation. Performs landscape gardening, tree trimming, exterior and interior painting, repairs or replaces minor electrical or plumbing components, and resolves arising issues with equipment, machinery, and general safety. Constantly communicates with other staff. At day’s end, reviews cleanliness and general maintenance, resolves pending issues, and finishes shift. May open/close restaurant, ensuring security. Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting
  • Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems such as Quore.
  • Strong Customer Service skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues.
  • Knowledge of hazard waste clean up
  • Knowledge of safety procedures
  • Understanding of a preventative maintenance program

Nice To Haves

  • Prior maintenance experience preferred but not required, including but not limited to building, hvac, plumbing and electrical
  • bilingual skills are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Operating various maintenance equipment; performing interior and exterior caulking and painting; roof maintenance, electrical repairs; including cleaning; carpentry repairs; tile repairs; foliage trimming; mechanical equipment maintenance; as well as related general building maintenance.
  • Supporting professional service personnel when needed.
  • Overseeing the opening and closing of the facilities, and all electromechanical operational activities during and after business hours.
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of all machinery, coordinating duties with Managerial staff and the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Turning equipment on/off at beginning/ending of shift, cleaning all equipment and related hardware, including stove, refrigeration, food warmers, counters, tools, parts, and equipment.
  • Observing all equipment operation.
  • Performing landscape gardening, tree trimming, exterior and interior painting of facility or furnishings, repairs or replaces minor electrical or plumbing components, concurrently resolving any arising issues with equipment, machinery, and general safety issues.
  • Constantly communicating with other staff and general personnel.
  • Reviewing cleanliness and general maintenance at day’s end, resolving any pending issues, and finishing shift.
  • Opening/closing restaurant at the beginning or end of the shift, ensuring all entrance/exit security, within all job site areas.
  • Performing other duties as required.
  • Logging in at shift’s start.
  • Changing into work gear, depending on the first activity: apron, hairnet, anti-slip shoes, disposable plastic gloves or latex gloves, apron, etc.
  • Obtaining tools and equipment for the day’s activities.
  • Determining the day’s priorities with Maintenance Supervisor and scheduling logistics for needed repairs or maintenance.
  • Performing repairs or maintenance of equipment with or without other outside service reps.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of all hotel equipment, including kitchen, counter, serving, storage, and preparation areas.
  • Overseeing equipment operation and management activities, concurrently maintaining an adequate flow of activities.
  • Performing maintenance of lighting, plumbing, painting, or gardening requirements.
  • Resolving any issues or problems with the support of the Maintenance Supervisor, ensuring general safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Replacing or repairing minor maintenance of lighting, plumbing or general operational equipment.
  • Reporting completed activities and any pending activities at end of shift, cleaning work area and finishing shift.
  • Repeating process as necessary.
