About The Position

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting the day-to-day operational needs of the facility. This role requires a well-rounded technical skill set, including general building maintenance, mechanical systems, and the ability to work with building automation and maintenance management systems. The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-conscious, and capable of troubleshooting a wide range of facility-related issues.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in facility maintenance or building operations
  • Strong working knowledge of: Drywall repair and finishing, Basic electrical systems, Plumbing and carpentry, HVAC systems and controls, Building Automation Systems (BAS), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Physically able to lift, climb, bend, and perform hands-on maintenance tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Trade certification or technical training in facilities, HVAC, electrical, or related field
  • Experience in commercial or retail facility environments
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including drywall patching and repair, painting, carpentry, and minor renovations
  • Conduct basic electrical work, such as replacing outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and troubleshooting minor electrical issues
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, clearing drains, and maintaining restrooms and break areas
  • Support HVAC systems, including basic troubleshooting, filter changes, monitoring performance, and coordinating with external vendors when required
  • Monitor and interact with Building Automation Systems (BAS) to ensure proper building performance and comfort levels
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to log, track, prioritize, and complete work orders efficiently
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests and facility emergencies in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams as needed
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
