About The Position
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for facilities & grounds maintenance, construction, general labor demands, and other maintenance related job duties in support of the Little Rock State Office.
Requirements
- The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of experience or training in the building construction trades, general building maintenance, or in the repair or maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical systems, plumbing, painting, & heating & air conditioning.
- Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, & safety requirements of motorized vehicles & equipment.
- Ability to operate & perform routine maintenance & minor repairs on motorized vehicles & equipment.
- Ability to perform routine building & grounds maintenance work.
- Ability to use, operate, & maintain electrical tools & machinery.
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
Responsibilities
- Building and facilities maintenance.
- Assist the facility management department with minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc. repair.
- Assist with construction projects with minor carpentry, painting, etc.
- Assist the Landscape Specialist with grounds-keeping on an as needed basis.
