About The Position
The Fairfield Inn & Suites® by Marriott Buffalo Airport is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join their team. This role is responsible for the upkeep of the hotel property and will assist the Chief Engineer. The hotel is conveniently located across from Buffalo Airport with free airport shuttle service, 3 miles from Walden Galleria Mall, and less than 10 miles from Downtown Buffalo. The property features 140 guest rooms and serves a complimentary breakfast buffet. The Fairfield by Marriott/Buffalo Airport is owned and managed by Buffalo Lodging Associates, an award-winning hotel management company.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of mechanic experience in a hotel or a related field.
- HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations, and general maintenance skills required.
- Ability to bend, kneel, lift, push, carry, and pull up to 75 lbs.
- Requires reaching overhead, climbing, crouching, and twisting.
- Valid driver's license required.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic repair work, painting, wall covering, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Manage pool operations and conduct preventative maintenance.
- Maintain and service pool and spa areas, including testing and recording as per state and local regulations.
- Clean internal areas of buildings, including sweeping, mopping, and removing garbage.
- Maintain cleanliness of public and storage areas, as well as the parking lot.
- Maintain all fixtures and equipment according to the preventative maintenance schedule and record such maintenance in log books.
