About The Position

Open Plan Systems is seeking a disciplined and versatile Maintenance Assistant to join our facility operations team. This role is designed for a proactive professional who possesses a broad mechanical aptitude and a foundational understanding of metalwork. Rather than seeking a specialist, we are looking for a "multipotentialite", someone who enjoys the variety of general maintenance and is eager to refine their welding skills under the guidance of our specific production standards. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who values operational efficiency and maintains a high standard of safety and professional conduct.

Requirements

Proven track record in general repairs. You should be comfortable swapping out a fixture, troubleshooting a motor, or patching a wall.
Have a fundamental understanding of welding techniques (torch and bead). We value a coachable mindset and a willingness to adapt your skills to our specific product needs and safety standards.
You don't wait for a list. You have the "see it, fix it" mentality and take pride in the upkeep of the facility.
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory. You will be required to operate company vehicles.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various industrial environments.

Responsibilities

Perform general facility maintenance including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.
Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
Utilize basic welding techniques to assist in product repairs or facility upgrades.
Operate the company van for parts pickup, equipment transport, and off-site tasks.
Identify maintenance needs proactively and manage daily task lists with minimal supervision.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
