About The Position

The Maintenance Assistant will maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and our established policies and procedures. This role ensures a successful maintenance program is maintained at all times.

Requirements

High School or Equivalent
Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with maintaining the grounds, facility, and equipment.
Assume administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for supervising maintenance tasks.
Supervise the day-to-day maintenance functions of assigned personnel.
Assist in setting maintenance standards and developing procedures for performing daily maintenance tasks.
Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing maintenance assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
Submit accident/incident reports to the director on the shift in which they occurred.
Ensure personnel wear and/or use safety equipment when lifting or moving heavy objects.
Maintain assigned work areas in a safe and attractive manner.
Assist in maintaining material safety data sheets (MSDSs) for hazardous chemicals.
Ensure containers of hazardous chemicals are properly labeled and stored.
Ensure maintenance personnel follow established policies governing the use of labels and MSDSs.
Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to the Director.
Maintain infection control and universal precautions practices when performing maintenance procedures.
Recommend equipment and supply needs to the director.
Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is available and easily accessible.
Ensure equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.
