About The Position

Maintenance Assistant – Full Time Heather Hill Health Care Center 6630 Kentucky Avenue | New Port Richey, FL 34653 Skilled Nursing Facility Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM Help keep care running smoothly. Heather Hill Health Care Center is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Assistant to support our Plant Operations team. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. Requirements

• Prior experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or plant services (healthcare or commercial setting preferred)
• Working knowledge of general maintenance trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC fundamentals)
• Ability to follow work orders, schedules, and safety instructions
• Reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet throughout the day
• Ability to meet all background, health, and screening requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive and routine maintenance throughout the facility, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC basics, carpentry, and painting
• Conduct regular building, safety, and equipment checks ; identify and help resolve repair needs
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe working conditions
• Support life safety systems , emergency preparedness, and infection control standards
• Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from staff and leadership
• Assist with landscaping, storm preparation, and seasonal projects as needed
