About The Position

Good Shepherd Home is seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Seymour, WI. This role is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on the facility and equipment, as well as groundskeeping duties. The starting wage is $22.00+ per hour, based on experience. We have current openings for a Day Shift position, working 80 hours per two-week pay period. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will receive and follow maintenance schedules and instructions from your supervisor, adhering to established policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Ability to receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from supervisor.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on facility and equipment including plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to clean windows and screens.
  • Ability to replace burned out light bulbs.
  • Ability to service heating and cooling units/systems.
  • Ability to perform unscheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to clean assigned areas and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility environment.
  • Familiarity with maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of manufacturer specifications for heating and cooling units/systems.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as per established maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, polishing, sweeping, etc., as necessary/directed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, per established procedures.
  • Clean windows and screens as directed.
  • Replace burned out light bulbs, to include: exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., and perform cleaning duties wherever necessary.
  • Service heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer, per established policies and procedures.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Clean assigned areas, equipment as directed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
