About The Position

Weinstein Properties is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Assistant Supervisor for the Abbington West End property in Henrico, VA. This is a hands-on role where you will assist in managing and coordinating a service team to ensure efficient upkeep, inventory, and repair of the property's grounds and buildings. You will also be part of the team performing maintenance duties, diagnosing problems, and making repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, structural, and appliances. Responsibilities include scheduling and supervising in-house and vendor work, sharing on-call duties, and ensuring professional maintenance practices, quality control, and adherence to policies and procedures to maximize rents and maintain high occupancy. The service team is customer service-driven, aiming to create a positive influence on visitors, prospects, and residents. Weinstein Properties owns and manages all its properties, offering stability and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of trade-related experience.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on apartment maintenance lead, assistant, or supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, interior/exterior maintenance, and carpentry.
  • EPA/CFC Refrigerant certification required (Type I and II or Universal).
  • Hands-on HVAC repair experience required.
  • Computer skills: ability to use business software to assign and manage work orders, schedule turns, order supplies, and communicate via email.
  • Willingness to share on-call duties with other team members.
  • Valid driver's license, transportation, and tools required.
  • Must pass a DMV and background/criminal check.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing and coordinating activities of a service team to ensure all upkeep, inventory, and repair of grounds and buildings are completed efficiently.
  • Work as part of the team to complete all maintenance duties, including diagnosing problems and making repairs in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, structural, and appliances.
  • Schedule and directly supervise all in-house and/or vendor work.
  • Share on-call duties with other team members.
  • Maximize rents and maintain high occupancy levels by following professional maintenance practices, using quality control, and following policies/procedures.
  • Provide customer service to visitors, prospects, and residents.
