About The Position

The Maintenance Area Manager is responsible for planning and directing daily preventative and predictive maintenance tasks across all shifts. This role supports and maintains all plant maintenance functions, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements, ergonomics, equipment safety, quality, efficiency, and uptime. The manager will also participate in the selection, development, training, and performance appraisal of Maintenance Team Members, making recommendations for promotions or status changes. This position supports IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 systems, participates in production meetings, and delivers on customer requirements through continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives. The role emphasizes confidentiality, honest communication, adherence to company policies and safety regulations, and has the authority to stop production for safety or quality concerns. Team members are to be treated with dignity and respect.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of OSHA Regulations.
  • Understanding of EMS (Environmental Management System).
  • Familiarity with ergonomics.
  • Ability to ensure equipment safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Skills in performing preventative and predictive maintenance tasks.
  • Experience in team member selection, development, training, and discipline.
  • Ability to conduct performance appraisals and make recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct daily preventative/predictive maintenance tasks for all shifts.
  • Assist with EMS spills and general requirements.
  • Support and maintain all maintenance functions in the plant, including OSHA Regulations, EMS, ergonomics, safety of equipment, equipment quality and efficiency, and uptime requirements.
  • Perform preventative and predictive tasks on all equipment and the facility.
  • Participate in the selection, development, training, and discipline of Maintenance Team Members.
  • Perform performance appraisals, making recommendations on promotions or other changes in status of Maintenance Team Members.
  • Support IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 Systems.
  • Participate in production and shift-to-shift meetings.
  • Deliver expectations on issues needing specific attention to meet customer requirements and make recommendations on how to accomplish tasks.
  • Support continuous improvement and cost-saving activities utilizing technical and advanced techniques.
  • Maintain confidentiality and foster open and honest communications.
