About The Position

This role is for a Maintenance Apprentice who will be required to complete training and enroll in classes at Ivy Tech Community College or another approved school as part of the Apprenticeship program. The apprentice must complete schooling according to the approved schedule and submit grades to HR upon completion of each course. The position may require shift changes or overtime work, and occasional performance of duties beyond those specified in the description.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to use standard Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to submit to a panel interview process
• Ability to attend and maintain acceptable passing grades at Ivy Tech or another approved technical school
• Must wear steel-toe shoes, safety glasses and earplugs when in manufacturing area.
• Ability to work in a noisy environment and be exposed to low levels of carbon black dust, which may be dirty.
• Be aware of all safety regulations and the visibility of forklifts on the work floor.
• Standing for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must wear appropriate PPE for handling of various materials

Nice To Haves

• One year of technical background or experience preferred.

Responsibilities
