About The Position

This role involves investigating and correcting production line problems, observing and listening to machines to diagnose malfunctions, and inspecting and troubleshooting parts. The apprentice will utilize hand tools, gauges, and instruments to determine problem sources, and demonstrate the ability to read blueprints, schematics, manuals, and engineering documentation. They will propose repair ideas to the Supervisor, develop repair plans, and perform general and preventative maintenance and repair. The role requires using CMMS software to track work progress daily and completing scheduled work orders for plant equipment maintenance and repair. Additionally, the apprentice will work with basic engineering equipment such as welders, lathes, and power tools, inspect visual flaws, lubricate machines, and complete/retain maintenance logs. Support will be provided to the Maintenance Supervisor as directed, while maintaining a helpful and friendly working relationship with colleagues. Compliance with customer, safety, ISO/IATF 16949 QMS, and ISO14001 EMS requirements is mandatory, including performing lock out/tag out procedures. Participation in an on-call emergency schedule and the ability to work a flexible schedule (M-F or Weekends) to support production needs are required. The apprentice will also operate all PIT equipment to complete work tasks and perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school degree and in active pursuit of an associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Ability to utilize computer-based software, Microsoft suite, and tablet applications.
• Familiar with conveyors, pneumatics and electrical components.
• Demonstrate basic manufacturing electrical knowledge.
• Ability to maintain concentration with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to lift/move up to 60lbs.
• Ability to single lift to 60 lbs. and team lift up to 120 lbs.
• Ability to twist, bend, push, pull and squat.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours per shift.

• 1+ year’s maintaining manufacturing type equipment.

Responsibilities

Benefits

• The salary range for this position is $22 - $24 per hour . Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
