Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Maintenance Apprentice - 1st Shift to join our team in Beltsville, MD! The core hours are 7 am - 3:30 pm, M-F. The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of one (1) year of experience in maintenance
Comply with all national and local safety and environmental standards, guidelines and policies by driving EBS/World class workforce initiatives such as ISO14001 and/or applicable regional initiatives.
Ability to use precision gauging instruments.
Understanding of basic electrical and mechanical systems and the ability to perform repairs.
Ability to proactively work with other team members under limited supervision.
Ability to stand and walk up to 12 hrs with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to comprehend and follow technical standards and maintenance procedures.
Knowledge of operating lift truck, material handling equipment, man lifts, and hand tools.
Requires working daily with lubricants and solvents.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Complete machine lubrication, oil fills, and chip/chip barrel removal per schedule.
Complete visual inspections and replacement of mill and lathe fans & filters.
Drive forklift and load/unload pallets of chip barrels from a trailer.
Provide support and back up for other members of department as needed by leadership.
Assist periodic coolant change and chip cleaning on mills and lathes.
Assemble devices received in kit form such as furniture and shelving units.
Complete periodic equipment and bulk material moves.
Updates records in CMMS.
Follow all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Ensure situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
