About The Position

Based in Andover, MA the Maintenance Technician will perform essential job functions associate with heat treatment under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed. This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus! Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 7am-3pm. Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive.

Requirements

  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
  • Basic electrical skills AC/DC
  • Mechanically sound with hand and power tools
  • Stainless gas piping/valves
  • Water cooling systems
  • Hydraulic/pneumatic systems
  • Lock out/tagout
  • Minimum six months experience in heat treating
  • Must have working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language

Nice To Haves

  • Confined space training a plus

Responsibilities

  • Implement the facility’s preventative maintenance program
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of fluid levels, water flows, quench oils, filters, washer soap and similar items; notify supervisor of issues as needed
  • Maintain clean and organized environment in the Maintenance Department work area; promptly clean up after maintenance and repair work is completed within the facility
  • Assist in equipment performance testing per companywide and manufacturer’s guidelines
  • Perform corrective actions required for out-of-specification conditions as directed by supervisor
  • Assist in analytical troubleshooting of issues to maintain equipment, facilities and vehicles
  • Accurately record and document all completed maintenance, modifications, and repairs
  • Maintain shop copies of manuals and blueprints in a neat and organized manner; provide others with updated information as required
  • Run company errands and pick up equipment, materials, and supplies as required
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner
  • Promptly report observed equipment, facility, and vehicle repair or maintenance needs to supervisor
  • Make suggestions for changes which would help the facility achieve improved efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Assist in maintaining the inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts
  • This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism
