Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must have a valid state motor vehicle driver’s license
  • Associate’s degree in a related field or two or more years of related experience
  • Basic AC/DC electrical theory knowledge
  • Proficiency in electrical and instrumentation installation and troubleshooting
  • Ability to work from blueprints, written specifications, sketches, and oral instructions
  • Ability to make repairs using reference material and prior experience without specific instruction
  • Ability to use testing and measurement equipment (Digital Multimeter, Insulation Tester, Process Meter, Field Communicator)
  • Ability to observe maintenance procedures and keep tools and shop equipment in good working condition
  • Ability to perform basic root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on equipment and use reporting systems
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to coordinate eyes, hands, and fingers for precise movements
  • Ability to coordinate eyes, hands and feet in response to visual prompts
  • Ability to use computers for accessing information, training, and data input/retrieval

Responsibilities

  • Complete WorkKeys assessments no later than 30 days after applying with minimum scores of Applied Mathematics: 5, Locating Information: 5, Reading for Information: 5, and Applied Technology (no minimum, but scores are reviewed by hiring managers). Make scores public and ensure the URL includes 'test details'.
  • Complete the online application, answer all questions, and provide the public link to WorkKeys scores.
  • Electronically attach a resume with complete work history, job duties, and dates of employment.
  • Electronically attach any high school, technical school, or college transcripts to be considered.
  • Electronically attach a copy of DD214 if served in the military.
  • Electronically attach Workkeys test results dated within the last 5 years.
  • Dismantle, repair, make adjustments to, overhaul, erect, install, assemble, fabricate and service general electrical and instrument (E&I) equipment throughout the plant.
  • Know and understand basic AC/DC electrical theory.
  • Be proficient in electrical and instrumentation installation and troubleshooting.
  • Provide the site production facilities with reliable, uninterrupted, and safe electrical energy supply.
  • Detect faulty equipment by inspection, testing, or general knowledge of the electrical and instrumentation worktrade.
  • Perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance work to prevent breakdowns that could curtail production or cause dangerous or unsafe conditions.
  • Adhere to strict deadlines for scheduled equipment PMs/calibrations, including Process Instrument Calibrations, Motor Control Center PMs, Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) PMs, Combustible Gas Detector Calibration, and Interlock Verification Tests.
  • Work from blueprints, written specifications, sketches, and oral instructions.

  • Complete apprenticeship program including classroom (books, hands-on labs, tests) and on-the-job training.
  • Maintain on-going satisfactory performance.
  • Participate in quarterly evaluations/feedback.
  • Maintain current status on all procedural and safety training.
