About The Position

Repair and Maintain rental equipment and other equipment used in the operation of the business. Will request ordering of parts, tools and equipment as necessary. Must be courteous, professional and knowledgeable with customers and staff regarding safety procedures and rental equipment.

Requirements

  • Must have a vocational school diploma or four years experience in repair and mechanics.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 100 lbs.
  • Must maintain a professional personal appearance.
  • Must possess customer relation skills.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to use mathematics to solve problems.
  • Must be able to speak English clearly and write legibly.
  • Must pass company drug screen.
  • Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Must have a full range of motion and dexterity.
  • Must be able to apply principles of rational thinking to solve problems.
  • Must possess knowledge in the construction and mechanical fields as well as knowledge in HVAC and plumbing.
  • Must have welding and painting experience.
  • Must have knowledge of two-stroke and four-stroke engines, diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
  • Must be able to provide, understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral or scheduled form.
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers.
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of patience and offer constructive criticism when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to speak other languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records on the maintenance of all repair and usage of all equipment in computer system.
  • Maintain inventory of all repair parts.
  • Request parts and equipment as needed.
  • Follow daily workload of prioritized work orders.
  • Meet with Director of Operations to discuss policies and problems, and make recommendations.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance schedule with Director of Operations.
  • Stay informed of equipment failures and safety violations.
  • Report safety violations to Director of Operations.
  • Regulate shop manuals, catalogs and bulletins.
  • Assist in establishing safety and health policies and procedures for repair and service areas.
  • Analyze equipment malfunctions and evaluate and assess feasibility of repair vs. the acquisition of new equipment.
  • Repair power and mechanical equipment.
  • Apply professional troubleshooting techniques to equipment repair.
  • Inspect and release equipment for rental.
  • Maintain safe working area.
  • Assist customers with pick-up and delivery of rental equipment as needed.
  • Demonstrate safe operation of equipment to customers or crew and test start.
  • Check and refill equipment fuel.
  • Attend department, store and safety meetings.
  • Attend workshops, seminars and classes for innovative repair techniques as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Assist yard, warehouse and delivery personnel as necessary.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form.
  • Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations and security in store.
  • Represent department at management meeting.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
