About The Position

Dow is seeking a Maintenance and PSV Technician at the Sabine River Operations (SRO) facility in Orange, Texas. This role requires a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship. The candidate will be responsible for the repair, assembly, calibration, and testing of all safety relief and pressure relief valve types, as well as maintaining and repairing all types of equipment within their craft knowledge and expertise. This position requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities and may involve acting as an informal resource for less experienced team members.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • 3+ years of industrial experience or 3 + years of Military experience with a technical specialty.
  • Able to work 4 10-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, overtime and or holidays as needed.
  • Current, valid US driver’s license.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting is a form of problem solving, often applied to repair failed products or processes on a machine or a system. It is a logical, systematic search for the source of a problem in order to solve it and make the product or process operational again. Troubleshooting is needed to identify the symptoms. Determining the most likely cause is a process of eliminating potential causes of a problem. Finally, troubleshooting requires confirmation that the solution restores the product or process to its working state.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Preventive maintenance (PM) is maintenance that is proactively performed on an asset with the goal of lessening the likelihood of failure, reducing unexpected downtime, and prolonging its useful life.
  • Corrective Maintenance: Corrective maintenance is a maintenance task performed to identify, isolate, and rectify a fault so that the failed equipment, machine, or system can be restored to an operational condition within the tolerances or limits established for in-service operations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Equipment maintenance is any process used to keep a business’s equipment in reliable working order. It may include routine upkeep as well as corrective repair work.
  • Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO): Maintenance Repair and Operations activities in relation to production equipment include actions like routine maintenance work, emergency maintenance, spare parts inventory control, purchasing condition monitoring equipment, and vendor management.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and corrects equipment problems.
  • Calibrates and aligns equipment.
  • Completes preventative maintenance activities.
  • Checks sizing of components and parts.
  • Specifies, requisitions, and installs parts and equipment.
  • Coordinates maintenance spare parts.
  • Assists in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.
  • Repairs, maintains and installs equipment and machinery which is used in the process.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and documents failure analysis.
  • Collects equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
  • Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.
  • Disassemble, clean and repair pressure relief devices.
  • Perform testing on certified testing equipment and complete all documentation by working under a National Board VR Program.
