About The Position

The Maintenance and Administrative Coordinator will assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment in and around the properties, both owned and leased by Connective, within their region. This may include performing a variety of interior and exterior maintenance duties. They will coordinate work outside their scope with external contractors to best serve our clients and support our staff. They will perform a variety of administrative tasks to support our Infrastructure team.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 level education and/or equivalent with two-years related experience
  • Experience in performing maintenance, and repairs
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining a collaborative and positive relationship with residents and other staff
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, with a high level of accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with contractors
  • Strong communication skills (listening, verbal, and written)
  • Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Record Check
  • Ability to successfully pass a reference check
  • Flexibility to travel within region of responsibility
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada, observe their weekly hours limit if under a temporary or study visa, and provide proof of eligibility if selected for the role.

Responsibilities

  • Fosters effective relationships between program staff and external contractors.
  • Under the general guidance of the Program Manager and Maintenance and Asset Manager assumes a primary role in making sure necessary repairs are completed, including coordinating external contractors to perform repairs.
  • Liaises with contractors to ensure the quality and timeliness of the repairs.
  • Ensure safety standards are established and maintained for the building and preventative maintenance tasks are performed.
  • Monitors maintenance and housekeeping supplies.
  • Provides input to the Program Manager and/or other staff regarding the planned or emergency maintenance issues.
  • Assists the Program Manager and/or other staff in the identification of potential problems and reports any difficulties.
  • Assists with and/or conducts inspections of resident spaces.
  • Follows all relevant Connective policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Participates in continuous proactive initiatives by identifying opportunities for improvement in costs, quality, customer service, and assets.
  • Prepares monthly reporting by collecting and organizing relevant stats or data.
  • Assist the Infrastructure team in coding and submitting invoices.
  • Track and record maintenance requests and maintenance work performed in our management system.
  • Assists the Maintenance and Asset Manager in the development of annual repair schedules, budgets, and capital plans as requested.
  • Enter and update resident information in property management system.
