This position is for a Maintenance A role at the Annex location, effective immediately. The role reports to the Director of Buildings and Grounds. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of maintenance tasks including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. This includes the operation and maintenance of boilers, sewage, air and heating equipment, and pneumatic controls. The role also involves chemical treatment and testing of boilers, filter changes, and cleaning of HVAC equipment. Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), carpentry, and mechanical skills related to locks, bearings, guttering, downspout, roof repairs, and brick/block setting is required. Electric skills in low and high AC and DC voltage are also necessary. The position involves assisting with snow removal, estimating materials, time, and costs for jobs, and performing other duties as assigned. The Maintenance A is expected to work with other maintenance personnel, maintain an inventory of parts, and ensure District tools and equipment are in good working condition. Vehicle maintenance and cleanliness are also responsibilities. Additional duties include landscaping, assisting with custodial duties in emergencies, and responding to after-hours emergency calls. Working hours may be adjusted for special projects.
