Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency.
  • Mechanical experiences working in a manufacturing setting or familiarity with power and hand tools are a plus.
  • This position requires a successful passing of the Munsell Color test.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods as well as work on elevated stationary platforms and withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer and winter months.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, good record keeping and precision abilities is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work under time pressures and flexibility to adjust to sudden work patterns or schedules.
  • Ability to work independently and with teams and must have good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, evenings, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Fully comply with all OSHA and WISHA safety rules and regulations.
  • This position requires union membership after 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up, adjusting, repairing, overhauling, performing PM’s (preventive maintenances), ESEs (quality adjustment checks), and evaluating seamless can line equipment as required to maintain standard quality and quantity production.
  • Has primary responsibility for safe mechanical performance of line and standard production output.
  • Disassemble, replace, reassemble, inspect, and maintain assigned machinery and equipment as required.
  • Measure and record all can dimensions against specifications.
  • Maintain records of production, quality and other related records as directed.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues; perform mechanical repairs and maintenance for production equipment.
  • Has primary responsibility for safety for all areas of assigned duties.
