About The Position

Resolves complex technical issues for Truist's Network applications. Truist will not sponsor an applicant for work visa status or employment authorization, nor will we offer any immigration-related support for this position. This role involves performing problem tracking, diagnosis and root-cause analysis, replication, troubleshooting, and resolution for complex issues, including programming and debugging. The engineer will respond to incidents and service tickets in a timely manner, analyze technical issue trends, and develop recommendations for long-term improvements. Documentation of interactions and resolution steps is required. The role involves occasional contact with end-users and communication of issue resolution status to internal customers. Engagement and management of outside vendors may also be required. The position requires in-depth knowledge of application support and best practices, and typically involves leading moderately complex projects while participating in larger initiatives. The engineer will solve complex technical and operational problems and act as a resource for less experienced teammates. There may be people management responsibilities for a small team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in development or application support or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • In- depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.
  • Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.
  • Ability to plan and manage projects.
  • Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices.
  • Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.
  • Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information.
  • English (Required) fluency.

Nice To Haves

  • VTAM/Network, IBM Mainframe
  • VTAM / SNA (EE Configurations) / TCP/IP Experience
  • Encryption and certificate management
  • Familiarity with network security protocols (IPSec, AT-TLS, SSH) and network monitoring (Omegamon, NetMaster, Traces)
  • Experience with logical connectivity between applications and mainframe subsystems
  • Knowledge of Coupling facility support, High Availability and Automation
  • Familiarity with parallel sysplex (GDPS), IBM System utilities
  • Bachelor's degree and six years of experience or work experience equivalent.
  • Banking or financial services experience
  • Rotation of on-call support and occasional weekend work.
