About The Position

The company is seeking a Mainframe Solution Architect with 4-6 years of architect-level experience, specifically focusing on Mainframe Modernization. This role is not for a Lead or SME, but for an individual with proven expertise in architecting and assessing mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mainframe technologies and their application in modernizing legacy systems, with a focus on designing target architectures and roadmaps for legacy-to-cloud modernization.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of architect-level experience.
• Mainframe Modernization experience.
• Strong experience in mainframe architecture and application pattern/component identification.
• Proficiency in PL/1, COBOL, CICS, IMS/DB2, JCL.
• Proven expertise in application sizing, complexity scoring, and business/technical health assessment for large mainframe portfolios.
• Demonstrated skill in APR/TIME analysis and R-lane disposition methodology.
• Strong track record in target-state architecture and wave-based roadmap design for legacy-to-cloud modernization.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with technologies such as COBOL, PL/1, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS, VSAM.
• Experience in business domains like Claims, Policy Administration, Underwriting, or Billing.
• Experience with modernization approaches and target architectures.
• Understanding of business outcomes related to modernization.
