About The Position

The NC Administrative Office of the Courts (NCAOC) seeks an experienced computer operator to monitor and maintain the operational status of systems and telecommunications lines for Judicial Branch locations across the state. This position is assigned to first shift, Monday – Friday with work hours from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM with occasional holidays and weekends. This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week and come in person for an interview.

Requirements

  • Experienced z/OS and JES2 computer operator providing support in a SYSPLEX environment.
  • Required 5 Years CA ESP workstation scheduling system
  • Required 5 Years Ability to provide data operational reports in clear and concise manner, both oral and written form of communication.
  • Required 3 Years Ability to work with technical teams to identify and assist with the remediation of Enterprise support services.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and associated peripherals; and computer programming techniques.
  • Skills in JES, MVS, JCL, z/OS SYSPLEX, and CA ESP job scheduler highly preferred.
  • Ability to operate the mainframe computer console and follow procedures exactly to ensure timely and accurate program production.
  • Ability to identify systems or equipment failures.
  • Ability to identify and report programming malfunctions.
  • Ability to understand complex instructions, both written and oral.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others.
  • Graduation from high school and twenty four (24) months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least three (3) years of experience supporting a z/OS SYSPLEX environment.
  • Willing to work onsite and come in person for an interview.

Nice To Haves

  • Highly desired 3 Years SharePoint experience.
  • Highly desired 3 Years Ability to work in a both Enterprise and Distributed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a z/OS SYSPLEX environment with multiple LPARs.
  • Operate computer consoles to ensure data files are entered as required by production schedules.
  • Initialize and halt systems without data loss.
  • Control the SYSPLEX environment and peripherals.
  • Notify users and other appropriate personnel of problems and consequent status; maintain job run and incident logs and record of reports run.
  • Monitor and maintain the CA ESP job scheduler.
  • Provide data operational reports in clear and concise manner, both oral and written form of communication.
  • Work with technical teams to identify and assist with the remediation of Enterprise support services.
