About The Position

The Mainframe Engineering Lead will lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality software applications. The role works with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with business goals and client needs, and provides technical leadership across application development, code quality, and team practices. The position is on-site Monday through Friday and may require on-call support.

Requirements

• 12 or more years of software development experience, along with leadership qualities.
• 8 or more years of experience with mainframe technologies and programming languages such as Assembler, COBOL, CICS, Java, C, C#, C++, or similar.
• 8 or more years of experience with SQL databases.
• 8 or more years of experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP services.
• 8 or more years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, engineering, or mathematics, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience.
• Currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization; candidates requiring sponsorship now or in the future are not considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of software applications supporting Fiserv's business goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Perform advanced coding, testing, and debugging to ensure optimal application performance.
• Maintain and improve existing codebases and lead peer review processes.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers and team members.
• Drive innovation and best practices within the software development team.
• Provide on-call support as required.
